Concept Statement
Flamingo is a neo-monolithic sculptural exploration of the collision between the controlled structure of civilization and suppressed primal wildness.
1. Collision of Reason (Grid) and Instinct (Hair)
The meticulously laminated birch beam symbolizes cold reason and the controlled order of modern civilization. In contrast, the neon pink denim fibers bursting through the pristine seams represent the primal wildness and sensual desires concealed beneath societal norms.
2. Ambivalence: Attraction and Repulsion
While maintaining a refined minimalist silhouette (Minimal-Rough), it reveals a delicate textile texture that creates a striking visual and tactile twist. It evokes a dual sense of ambivalence—an alluring urge to touch juxtaposed with the uncanny chill of encountering an unfamiliar organism.
